The Violet Cross Ministry:
The Violet Cross Ministry is program created to support the underground church through Bible distribution. The men and women in underground Church in restricted nations around the world are in need of bibles, something that we often take for granted because we have the freedom to buy a Bible when ever we feel like it and can find them in any store. Those in the underground church dream of owning their own copy of the living word of God. In many cases they rip pages from the Bible and whole churches share the pages one by one. Some churches do not even have a bible at all. Christians in the underground church suffer abuse, arrest, and even death to serve Jesus Christ. They need the constant inspiration and internal support offered through the pages of the Bible as they face Satan's oppression. We intend to support the underground church by selling special hand made wooden crosses. These wooden crosses are simple in nature and are nothing fancy, they were never intended to be. However they accomplish an amazing feat. They cost very little to manufacture and depending upon the organization who receives the donation, just one cross could supply up to 10 Bibles into the hands of Gods dear ones in captivity in the underground church. Each time one of our wooden crosses are sold it not only gives needy Christians in the underground church a Bible, it also helps fund the making of more crosses. A double blessing! About our crosses:

One of our missions with I Testify Online, is to assist organizations who supply Bibles to Christians in captive nations in the underground church.

We intend to assist these organizations who print, smuggle and distribute these Bibles to the underground church by selling special, hand made wooden cross figurines that we manufacture ourselves.

I began making these wooden cross figurines nearly ten years ago out of a desire to have one for myself. Friends and family liked them and wanted one as well and I found myself giving them as gifts.

My hobby began to turn into a passion as I realized that through these wooden cross figurines I was creating something that would remind others of Jesus Christ. Ultimately through a series of events, which you can read in My Testimony, I decided to take this ministry a step further and help support the efforts of organizations whose purpose was to print and distribute Bibles to Christians in the underground church in captive nations who are starving for the word. There is no greater gift man can give to another than this.

As we developed this site to glorify God by revealing powerful stories of his children being redeemed by his grace through Christ Jesus, we also wanted to add this cross ministry as well. It is our vision and prayer that one day the proceeds from the sales of our Christian merchandise, in particular the wooden cross figurines, will have helped place thousands of Bibles into the underground church in restricted nations. It is our belief that just one Bible in the hands of an oppressed Christian in the underground church could change the world!

It is hard to believe that there are Christians in this world who dream of owning their own Bible and may never actually get the chance because the Bible has been declared to be illegal to possess. This is unacceptable! We must use the money and freedom God has allowed us to have to get our brothers and sisters in the underground church their own personal Bible. God speak to us through the Bible giving us direction, knowledge and strength and he is wanting to speak to the underground church as well, who are being persecuted. We want to serve Gods purpose for the underground church with our wooden cross figurines.

The Violet Cross Dedication:

We have dedicated this ministry to a special lady who helped to make this world a better place for all who knew her, my grandmother Violet Osterle.

My "Grandma Violet" passed away on August 14th, 2006 at the age of 89.

Violet came from a large family in Missouri and grew up in a time when life was not so easy. In her 89 years she accomplished many things such as starting and managing her own meat processing plant along side her husband and raising a family of 6.

This family grew larger with addition of grand children and then great grand children and even great great grand children, and she loved them all.

Her greatest joy in life was to care for her family. Her door was always open and when family came to visit one of the first things she would always ask was if she could get them something to eat. She was the greatest cook ever by the way! Her home was like a bed and breakfast to her family, and sometimes to non family. From the outside looking in it would appear as if we were running her ragged, but let me assure you this was not the case. She had more energy than her grand kids and would not take no for an answer when it came to food. Her greatest satisfaction was to give people pleasure through her cooking talent.

The thing that always amazed me most about my Grandma Violet, aside from how hard she worked all her life, how much energy she had to care for such a large family, what a great cook she was and how she could cook an amazing meal in 30 minutes or less all from scratch, was how many people in her lifetime that she cared for and served while they lay on their death bed.

When she knew someone, family and non-family alike, who was suffering or dying she would devote her time to caring for them. There are many stories of her putting her life on hold to cook and clean and assist people in need while battling illness. She was at the bedside of many relatives holding their hand as they left this world, and I thank God that he allowed her to dye with her closest family by her side holding her hand as she slipped beyond this world to be with Jesus where there is no pain, and there are no tears.

When I think of my grandmother I can't help but think of the devoted women who served Jesus. I guess Grandma Violet was serving others as they served Jesus. By caring and serving others she was in effect serving Jesus. Don't forget the words Jesus spoke when he said "If you so much as give a cup of water to one of my children you have done so for me."

Grandma Violet was one of the first recipients of one of my wooden cross figurines and she reassured me, as she lay in the hospital the day before she died, that she loved them, and I believe she truly did. I made sure she had one in her hospital room to give her comfort when times got dark and if she began to worry about death the very thought of Jesus would give hope and light.

After grandma had passed we found out that she had left all her grand children some inheritance money. I instantly knew what I needed to do with mine, establish this cross ministry in her name. What greater legacy could one have than to supply a cross in peoples homes that when looked upon they would think of Jesus Christ and his gift of salvation, while at the same time knowing they helped supply a handful of Bibles to Gods dear ones in captivity in the underground church.
